Getting the right limousine often depends on the details that you provide to your service provider. What the occasion is, how many people will be there, for long do you intend using the limo and what is the distance you'll be travelling are all valid questions that the limo people will need to give you the best possible service.
Choose Your Vehicle:
Ask to inspect the limo before you hire it. Inspect their fleet and choose the one that most suits your needs. Sometimes, you could end up with a limo, that cannot accommodate all your friends and they end up in the limo, like sardines in a can. Ensure that the vehicle that you eventually pick has the space, features and look that you are seeking.
Don't Just Focus On Money: Focus On Value:
Your celebration is a one-time affair; don't compromise on quality for the sake of saving money. Some limo companies are cheap because of some hidden shortcomings, their vehicles may be outmoded, they may not be properly licensed - a low price could also mean a lower service level.
Ensure Everything Is Legal And Above Board:
Legitimate services need to be registered with their state and have mandated levels of insurance and their drivers' should be properly licensed. If you want liquor to be served the service owner must have the requisite permission from the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC). Never take chances. Your party could be apprehended by lawmaker's enroute to the church or wherever you are going and surely you would not want the occasion to end like that.
Before Settling The Price, Tell Them Everything You Want:
It is an unwritten but accepted business tent, that a service provider, will agree to most terms, prior to the contract being signed - in these tough economic times and in the face of tough competition who wants to lose out on business. However, once the deal is sealed, they will ask for extra money, on the flimsiest of excuses. So if there is a preferred route, decorations on the vehicle or extra stops on the way make them clear and have them mentioned in the contract.
Ask For The Whole Price:
Tell the service provider that he should quote the final price, not a penny more, not a penny less. Add-on's like fuel charges and service charges could enlarge your bill significantly. Moreover, confirm if the chauffeur's tips are included in the price or you will have to pay separately. This could be anything between 15 to 20 percent of the base charges.
Ask For A Contract:
Ensure that you get a copy of the contract duly signed. It should contain all details of the confirmation, reservation, deposits and advances made, pickup and drop-off locations, specific vehicle with the number, proof of insurance and licensing and above all details of any extra facilities that are being provided.
Call To Confirm A Few Before Your Event:
Confirm your reservation and ask for the driver's cell number at least two days before the end. Remind them of what time they are expected to be at the pick-up point.
